In February 2019, the Sun Valley Music Festival transformed the Argyros Performing Arts Center into a nightclub for classical music for its inaugural Winter Concert Series. Relaxing in sofas, loveseats, lounge chairs, and at bar tables, audience members sat within feet of the musicians who performed on two stages and, for one piece, spread among the audience throughout the theater. Atmospheric lighting and video added surprise and mystery to the mood.
Music Director Alasdair Neale took the audience through 900 years of music, exploring vastly different acoustic environments.
What’s in store for 2020? Stay tuned for the winter season announcement in fall 2019, and save the dates for next year’s concerts: February 27-29.
