Paul Torrisi joined the Utah Symphony as Second Trumpet in the fall of 2019. Prior to his appointment to the USUO, he served as Assistant Principal/Second Trumpet in the Grand Rapids Symphony (MI) from 2017-2019. He also played Third Trumpet in the Youngstown Symphony from 2015-2017 as a Masters student at the Cleveland Institute of Music under the tutelage of Michael Sachs and Michael Miller. For his undergraduate degree, Paul attended Southern Methodist University in his home state of Texas, studying with Tom Booth. Paul also participated in the Tanglewood Music Center fellowship program in 2016 and 2017, occasionally getting to play as an extra with the Boston Symphony.

Paul currently lives with his wife Hannah and cat Pepper in Salt Lake City. He spends his free time hiking, snowshoeing, lifting weights, and solving twisty puzzles.
