Jacksonville Symphony

Kate Caliendo has been second horn of the Jacksonville Symphony since 2016. She previously held positions with the Houston Symphony and San Antonio Symphony. During the summers she performs with the Bellingham Festival of Music and has taught at the Idyllwild Arts Academy. Ms. Caliendo has been a featured soloist with the Charleston Symphony and can be heard on recording projects with the Kansas City Symphony, Rice Horn Studio and Houston Symphony. Ms. Caliendo is also a published composer and has released a collection of 18 Virtuosic Concert Etudes for Low Horn and the Caliendo Warm-Up Routine as well as numerous other arrangements and transcriptions for horn. She received her Masters and Bachelors degrees from The Shepherd School of Music at Rice University and was also a student at the Manhattan School of Music. Her principal teachers include William VerMeulen, Dale Clevenger, Michelle Baker, and Jeffrey Nelsen.
