Julia Coronelli

Widely recognized as one of the leading orchestral harpists of her generation, Julia Coronelli will begin her new appointment as Principal Harpist of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra in September 2020. Previously, she was Principal Harpist of the Sarasota Orchestra, and Principal Harpist of the New World Symphony from 2014-2017.

In January 2020, Coronelli performed as Guest Principal Harp on the Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s Europe Tour, led by Maestro Riccardo Muti, with performances in Cologne, Vienna, Luxembourg, Paris, Naples, Florence, Milan, and Lugano. In 2019, Coronelli performed as Guest Principal Harp on The Chicago Symphony’s Asia Tour, also led by Riccardo Muti. Tour stops included Taipei, Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, and Osaka.

Coronelli has also performed with the New York Philharmonic, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (U.K.), St. Louis Symphony, San Diego Symphony, Milwaukee Symphony, Rochester Philharmonic, The Florida Orchestra, and The Phoenix Symphony.

An active participant in summer festivals, Coronelli is Principal Harpist of the Britt Festival Orchestra (Jacksonville, OR), and has previously been Acting-Principal Harpist of the Colorado Music Festival (Boulder, CO), Principal Harpist of the Artosphere Festival (Fayetteville, Arkansas), a Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center (Lenox, MA), Principal Harpist at Music Academy of the West (Santa Barbara, CA), and attended the Aspen Music Festival and School for two seasons. She is thrilled to be joining the Sun Valley Music Festival orchestra for the first time.
