San Francisco Ballet Orchestra

Joseph Brown plays second trumpet in the San Francisco Ballet Orchestra, a position he has held since 2016. Joe is a member of The Bay Brass and performs frequently with the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, and many other Bay Area groups. He has worked with many orchestras around the country, including the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the St. Louis, Indianapolis, Seattle, Detroit, Atlanta, and San Diego Symphonies. He has also played guest principal trumpet with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and Hawaii Symphony Orchestra.

Summer engagements include Tanglewood Music Center and the Mainly Mozart, Classical Tahoe, Britt, and Pacific Music Festivals.

Before moving to the Bay Area, Joe was a fellow at the New World Symphony in Miami Beach for three years. Originally from Houston, Texas, he holds degrees from The Colburn School, University of Michigan, and Ithaca College. In his free time, Joe enjoys skiing, running, hiking, biking, home brewing, and spending time with his wife, Erika and their dog, Dale and cat, Bailey.
