Assistant Concertmaster, San Francisco Symphony

 

Concertmaster of the Sun Valley Summer Symphony since 2000, violinist Jeremy Constant also holds the positions of Concertmaster of the Marin Symphony and Assistant Concertmaster of the San Francisco Symphony. An active soloist and chamber musician, Mr. Constant is a founding member of the Navarro Trio and the Navarro Quartet, and a participant in the Edgar M. Bronfman String Quartet.

After winning the Grand Prize in the 1979 Du Maurier competition in Canada, Mr. Constant studied in New York with Ivan Galamian and with the legendary violinist Itzhak Perlman. He plays the ex-Heberlein Stradivarius, from the year 1700. This Stradivarius was donated to the San Francisco Symphony for his exclusive use.

Mr. Constant resides in Oakland with his wife Sharon. In addition to his musicianship, he is a pilot. It took him more than seven years to build his plane, which he now enjoys flying.
