Ryan Toher, from Arlington Heights, Illinois, has been Acting 2nd/Eb Clarinet with the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra for the past three seasons. He has performed as guest principal with the New York Philharmonic and Baltimore Symphony Orchestra. In addition, he has performed with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Pacific Symphony, and New World Symphony. Toher has been a fellow at the Verbier Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, Music Academy of the West, New York String Orchestra Seminar, Sarasota Music Festival, and National Orchestral Institute. He was the grand prize winner of the Vandoren Emerging Artists Competition in 2018.  Toher holds degrees from the University of Southern California and Oberlin Conservatory of Music where he studied with Yehuda Gilad and Richard Hawkins, respectively.
