Last season, she was featured in several role debuts as Nannetta in\u00a0<em>Falstaff<\/em>, Biancofiore in a new production of\u00a0<em>Francesca da Rimini\u00a0<\/em>by Christof Loy, Musetta in\u00a0<em>La Boh\u00e8me<\/em>, Tebaldo in\u00a0<em>Don Carlo<\/em>, and Cherubino in\u00a0<em>Le nozze di Figaro<\/em>, as well as a return to Papagena in\u00a0<em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te<\/em>, Frasquita in\u00a0<em>Carmen<\/em>, Bianca in\u00a0<em>La Rondine<\/em>, and Li\u00f9 in\u00a0<em>Turandot<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In seasons prior, she appeared at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, performing Li\u00f9 in\u00a0<em>Turandot<\/em>, Mic\u00e4ela in\u00a0<em>Carmen,\u00a0<\/em>Adele in\u00a0<em>Die Fledermaus,\u00a0<\/em>Papagena in\u00a0<em>Die Zauberfl\u00f6te, <\/em>Jano in\u00a0<em>Jenufa, and <\/em>debuted the role of Oscar in\u00a0<em>Un ballo in maschera<\/em>. Outside of the Deutsche Oper, Ms. Marrero reprised Cunegonde in\u00a0<em>Candide\u00a0<\/em>at the Komische Oper Berlin, Heitor Villa-Lobos\u2019\u00a0<em>Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5\u00a0<\/em>with the San Antonio Symphony, and\u00a0<em>Carmina Burana\u00a0<\/em>with Donald Runnicles and the Atlanta Symphony and Grand Teton Music Festival. She also made her role and house debut as Cunegonde at the Komische Oper Berlin in Barrie Kosky\u2019s new production, as well as at the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden, and has appeared as Maria in\u00a0<em>West Side Story<\/em> with the Grand Teton Music Festival and the Puerto Rico Symphony, among others.<\/p>\n<p>Ms. Marrero has performed extensively in her home country of Puerto Rico. She was the recipient of the Career Bridges grant from the Schuyler Foundation and the Phyllis Curtin Career Entry Prize from the Yale School of Music.\u00a0She began her musical studies with the San Juan Children\u2019s Choir, and, after studying molecular biology at the University of Puerto Rico, completed a Bachelor of Music from the Puerto Rico Music Conservatory (where she graduated as the Valedictorian of her class) and a Master of Music from Yale Opera at the Yale School of Music.
