The world is taking notice. And since you are among the Festival\u2019s fans and supporters, I thought you might enjoy reading some of what\u2019s being written about the orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>First up: freelance writer\u00a0<strong>Laurence Vittes<\/strong>\u00a0recently published an article entitled \u201cBack to Business: Postcard from Sun Valley\u201d in\u00a0<em>The Strad<\/em>. Here\u2019s an excerpt:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;What a band. The violins alone included concertmasters and assistant and associate principals from the San Francisco, Rochester, St. Louis, Louisville, Utah, Buffalo, and Alabama Symphonies. This meant they could put together world-class performances of complex pieces like the Mahler Fourth and Jennifer Higdon\u2019s blue cathedral with a minimum of rehearsals. And that professionalism paid dividends in Weilerstein\u2019s Schumann, which was deeply emotional, rhapsodic and spontaneous, to the point where any orchestra and conductor would have been tested \u2013 and yet there was not one bar when the orchestra was not with the soloist, despite only one afternoon rehearsal before the 6:30pm performance.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Read the full article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestrad.com\/playing-and-teaching\/back-to-business-postcard-from-sun-valley\/13843.article\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-8406\" src=\"https:\/\/www.svmusicfestival.org\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Untitled-1-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.svmusicfestival.org\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Untitled-1-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.svmusicfestival.org\/staging\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Untitled-1.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/div>\n<p>While\u00a0<em>The Strad<\/em>\u00a0is an industry journal, read mostly by musicians and those in the classical music business, the opposite end of the readership spectrum might be occupied by United Airlines\u2019 in-flight magazine,\u00a0<em>Hemispheres<\/em>, with a circulation of over 13 million. Here\u2019s an excerpt from the June issue:<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Famous for attracting Hollywood royalty, Sun Valley, Idaho, is also home to the largest admission-free classical music festival in the U.S. An ensemble of more than 100 orchestra pros comes together from around the country, led by veteran music director Alasdair Neale, to perform symphony and chamber concerts at the outdoor Sun Valley Pavilion.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Read the full article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hemispheresmag.com\/inspiration\/art-culture\/summer-festivals\/\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In addition to these pieces, the Festival received coverage and a couple of concert reviews in a number of other journals over the last few months.
